How do Cruises work? I’m thinking about going on my first cruise next summer.?
How do cruises work? When you get to a port of call can I leave the ship and do my own thing and just be back by the time it leaves. For example: if the ship arrives in Costa Maya at 8am and isn’t scheduled to depart until 6pm can I explore Costa Maya until close to 6? Thanks!!!
cruises are awesome. I think they are cheaper then most of the all-inclusives. ( if your not a big drinker ) Sounds like you are looking for an adventure. Getting to stop at a different Island every day is the best part about cruises. Check out the two best places on the interent….

Yep – that’s exactly how they work. Also remember that all the food is included in the price, but the alcohol is NOT. I learned this the hard way on my first cruise, with a $1,700 liquor bill.
Hope you have a great time.

You are correct. The ship will drop you off at a certain destination and it’s your responsiblity to get back on the boat. They will leave you if you’re not there. Lots of people will rave about how they love cruises. My husband and I hated every moment of it. I would highly suggest going on an ALL-INCLUSIVE vacation somewhere. Our $400.00 per person cruise ended up being around $4000.00 total once airfare, drinks etc. were factored in. Drinks are even more expensive than a bar. Beer was about $5 a bottle. A can of pop was $2.05. Everytime we turned around we were forking out more money. Save yourself the headache and check with your local travel agent about an all-inclusive vacation.
