Sail on Msc Cruises Spectacular Winter Sailings to Quebec and New York City

Cruise Line to Begin Sailings from New York City, Quebec in 2010

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (JANUARY 9, 2009) – MSC cruises, long a leader in the European cruise market and a growing presence in the Caribbean cruise winter market, will be adding Canada and New England cruises to its offerings in 2010.

MSC Magnifica, currently under construction and scheduled to debut in March 2010, will be sailing a series of Fall Foliage cruises from both New York City and Quebec in the fall of 2010 before sailing to Fort Lauderdale to join MSC Lirica for the 2010-11 Caribbean cruise season.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for residents of the Northeastern United States and Canada to enjoy an MSC Cruises experience on one of the line’s newest and most elegant cruise ships without having to add in the cost and time of airfare,” says Richard E. Sasso, president and CEO of MSC Cruises (USA), Inc.

He adds, “MSC Magnifica is ideal for Fall Foliage cruises. With nearly 80 percent outside staterooms and a magrodome (retractable roof over the swimming pool), guests can appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature throughout the cruise.”

MSC Magnifica, which is scheduled to debut in March 2010, will depart Venice on Sept. 4, 2010 on an 18-night transatlantic cruise to New York City. Along the way, it will call at Bari, la Vallette, Malaga, Cadiz, Lisbon, Ponta Delgada and King’s Wharf (Bermuda), arriving in New York City on Sept. 22.

The cruise ship will then sail the following itineraries for Canada and New England cruises:

  • 10 night roundtrip, departing Sept. 22 and calling in Sydney, Charlottetown, Quebec, Halifax and Newport
  • 7 night New York City to Quebec, departing Oct. 2 and calling in Halifax, Charlottetown and Corner Brook
  • 7 night Quebec to New York City, departing Oct. 9 and calling in Sydney, Bar Harbor, Boston and Newport
  • 7 night New York City to Quebec, departing Oct. 16 and calling in Halifax, Sydney and Charlottetown
  • 9 night Quebec to Fort Lauderdale, departing Oct. 23 and calling in Sydney, Boston, Newport and New York City

The cruise itineraries can be combined, making them ideal for those who want a longer, roundtrip experience or even a 16-night cruise from New York City to Fort Lauderdale.

How many cruises have cancelled their cruise due to the oil spill?

I didn’t think any cruises had… but now I am hearing overwise.

I have a cruise in a month to the Carribean.

So it’s kind of important that I find out.

Thanks:)

Haven’t heard about ANY. The only ones so far that I could even imagine being affected would be ones out of Galveston or New Orleans. Most of the cruises go out of Florida’s east coast or out of Tampa, and none of those places has been affected by the spill. The spill also is not near any of the ports of call for caribbean cruises, so, again, there’s no reason to cancel. Even if there were oil near one of the ports, the cruise would be diverted to a different port.

You’ll have more to worry about with possible hurricanes than you will with the oil spill….

Why are there no cruises from San Diego in the months of June, July, and August?

I am trying to book a cruise to coincide with an anniversary, and we wanted to drop the kids at Grandma’s in San Diego and go. But there aren’t any cruises that sail at that time or in any of the surrounding months. Anybody know why?

Cruiselines offer different cruises from different ports at different times of the year. During the summer months, cruises to Alaska are quite popular and those ships may have been redeployed to Seattle or Vancouver.

From the southland, you can take a cruise to Mexico from either Long Beach on Carnival (3, 4 & 7 nights) or Los Angeles on Royal Caribean (7 nights only). Not as convenient as leaving from San Diego since that’s where grandma is but not too far either.

Have fun!

Egypt Nile Cruises

Just the words “Egypt Nile cruises” bring visions of exotic surroundings, gorgeous scenery and the mysterious sites and historic locations along the enormous river. Stretching far beyond Egypt, the Nile is still most strongly associated with its people and its agriculture, and one of the most popular activities for visitors to enjoy is one of the many remarkably scenic Egypt Nile Cruises.

Of course not everyone is aware of the “routes” followed by the cruise ships, felucca and other water craft. While most people assume they can hop aboard a boat of some sort in Cairo and then simply head upriver, the fact is that all cruises will either begin or end far south in Luxor. Today there are no cruises departing from Cairo due to the locks and ill-prepared marinas that currently exist along this lengthy section of the river. For now a visitor must board at the southernmost areas and head downriver or they can begin in Luxor and head south.

What kind of Egypt Nile cruises are available? There are an almost limitless range of styles and prices. There are “theme” cruises, such as the remarkably popular Victorian cruises, the Pharaonic cruises and the luxury cruises, among many more. There are cruises that range from three days to those requiring a two week period to complete, and there are those that offer guest speakers and on shore guides as well as onboard entertainment and lectures on Egyptian subjects.

Where do I find Egypt Nile cruises? The Internet is one of the most powerful tools for locating the perfect cruise or tour package. There are many companies that operate tours and there are also those that own their ships and provide “floating hotels” with all of the amenities required of a visitor staying on “dry land”.

The best way to select the ideal Egypt Nile cruises is to examine the itineraries available. For example, a visitor with only a week in the country may want to begin their stay in Egypt with a lengthy visit to Cairo, which can then be followed by a short flight to Abu Simbel. Here many travelers board their Egypt Nile cruises and head downriver towards Luxor. At Luxor visitors will see the world famous Valley of the Kings – home to the tomb of Tutankhamun among many others, tour the historic Temple of Karnak and spend some time shopping in the city’s popular markets.

What is the best site for deals on cruises?

and PLEASE do not spam with an advertisement or I will report you. I want answers from consumers who have used various cruise websites for deals on cruises. There seems to be so many out there all claiming to be the best in price…but they all seem to have the best price. I want to book a cruise on either Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, or Celebrity to the caribbean this summer. Let me know your opinions.

If I was you I would find a good local travel agent. They can get you just as good a deal than the internet sites. Plus they know all the little tricks the cruise line’s spring on you after you buy your tickets. PLus many times travel agents have reserved blocks of cabins on certain cruise lines that include a lot of extras you don’t get with a web site. And the most important thing is you have access to a real live local human being that looks after your best interest and gets you the most bang for your buck. They know all the horror stories . I prefer the human touch.

It should come as no surprise that Europe is one of the most popular cruise destinations in the world. European cruises are perfect for those who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the costal cities without having to worry about where to stay and where to dine. If you would rather travel into the very heart of Europe and still enjoy the comfort of a cruise ship, the European river cruises are what you’ve been looking for. No matter what part of the continent you plan to sail to, Europe will offer you one of the greatest experiences of your life.

There are plenty of reasons why visiting Europe by means of a cruise ship is one of the best ways to travel. First of all, many of the grand European sites and cities are situated either on the course of a navigable river, either on the sea shore. Cruising through Europe can take you to most of the important tourist attractions and enables your journey to be a very comfortable one. You won’t have to worry about packing and unpacking several times, about where to eat or how to get to a specific place. When you’re on board of a cruise ship everything is taken care of for you. Most European cruises offer guided tours for the passengers so you won’t have to worry about not finding the important sites. European cruising is also a very efficient way to see Europe. Cruise ships usually travel by night and by early morning you’re already in your next port of call so you can enjoy a full day of sightseeing. This is possible because the distances between the important ports of call in Europe are not that great and can be covered during the night.

European cruises are commonly divided into Mediterranean cruises and Northern cruises. A Mediterranean cruise takes you on an unforgettable voyage through the costal cities and exotic islands which used to be the jewels of the ancient world. When going on a Mediterranean cruise you can choose one of several routes. You might want to sail through the Aegean Sea, visiting the costal cities of Greece and Turkey and islands such as Crete, Rhodes or Mykonos. Another popular route takes you from the Adriatic Sea to the Straight of Gibraltar. You will enjoy the glamour and beauty of cities like Monte Carlo, Venice, St-Tropez and Barcelona. If you’re thinking of a more oriental experience you should definitely visit the Southern Mediterranean. Adventure and mystery awaits in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. No matter which one of these European cruises you are considering you will surely have an incredible journey.

Some travelers are more drawn to the Northern landscapes than to the Mediterranean. Scandinavia, the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe are famous for the sophisticated cities and rugged beauty of the landscapes. Whether it’s England or Norway, the architectural beauty of the ports of call you’ll be visiting is one of a kind. Modern masterpieces coexist with ancient castles in a fascinating natural setting. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the finest art, from London to St. Petersburg. European cruises and European river cruises in this part of the world are very popular during the summer because of the mild temperatures.

If you’d like to visit the European inland cities and still enjoy the comfort of a cruise ship, there are quite a few European river cruises to choose from. A Rhine river cruise will take you throughout the fascinating landscapes of Germany and you can even take another waterway to Austria, Hungary or the Netherlands. You can choose to experience the romance of the French cities and castles, sailing on the Rhone or Seine. Danube river cruises offer a voyage throughout the rich cultures of central end Eastern Europe. Russia, Italy and Spain are also popular river cruise destinations that you should consider. We are delighted to offer you more information about European river cruises at european-river-cruiese-eu.

A European cruise will offer you a fantastic experience: you’ll see unforgettable sights, you’ll meet incredible people and you’ll enjoy remarkable cuisine. No matter what route you take, Europe promises to inspire you and leave you yearning for more. European cruises certainly make for the best vacations and we are prepared to give you all the information you need to know before setting off on the trip of your lifetime.

Lasko Kosher Cruises Offers First Glatt Kosher Cruise to Israel and Egypt

Lasko Kosher Cruises, which recently merged with Suite Life, a leading kosher cruise operator for the past seven years, has announced that it will be adding the first Glatt Kosher cruise to Israel and Egypt to its list of 2009 sailings. This “Ancient Empires” cruise will include 13 days aboard Celebrity Cruises’ brand new Equinox leaving from Rome, Italy on Tuesday, August 18, 2009.

The Ancient Empires itinerary features culturally rich ports of call including Rome and Naples, Italy; Athens and Rhodes, Greece; Ephesus, Turkey; Alexandria, Egypt; and Haifa and Ashdod, Israel. Guests will sail around the Mediterranean Sea visiting ruins, perusing architecture and sampling the flavor of these ancient empires.

The Israel/Egypt cruise, like all Lasko Kosher Cruises, offers premium accommodations plus three fresh, gourmet Glatt Kosher, Cholov Yisroel meals and snacks daily as well as three minyanim a day in a dedicated shul on board. All are complimentary and reserved for Lasko Kosher Cruises passengers exclusively.

Lasko brings onboard a full staff of mashgichim to kasher a designated portion of the galley in advance of the sailing and maintain 24-hour presence in the kitchen. A Lasko Kosher Cruise representative is also onboard every cruise to tend to guests’ personal needs.

“Our all-inclusive destinations at sea are distinguished by the quality of the ships we use, the standards of Kashrut we uphold, and the unique vacations we provide our guests,” said Sam Lasko, a partner in Lasko Kosher Cruises and founder of Lasko Family Kosher Tours, which has been serving the Jewish community for over 20 years, most notably in Kosher for Passover hotel programs. “We pride ourselves on the personal attention we provide, from the moment a customer calls to book until they disembark. Going that extra mile to create a warm family environment is part of our operating philosophy.”

“What is so nice about a kosher cruise is that you enjoy a true luxury vacation yet you don’t have to compromise any of your religious practices,” added Avrumi Flam, a partner in Lasko Kosher Cruises and a singer well known in the tri-state area Jewish Community. “We make you feel like you’re home, but you’re actually in the most fascinating destinations you would otherwise not be able to experience without the services of a kosher tour company like Lasko.”

In fact, in addition to delicious gourmet dining, Lasko Kosher Cruises is known for its esteemed scholar in residence program, inspiring lectures from highly respected rabbis, and entertainment provided by popular Jewish musicians. Among the other added-value features of a Lasko Kosher Cruise are extensive tea rooms between meals as well as personalized tours that visit Jewish related points of interest and explore the culture of the Jewish people. As an independent yet integrated group of each cruise, guests are always free to partake in all of the ship’s programs and exhilarating excursions.

“When we launch Celebrity Equinox in Europe in 2009, some of her first voyages will include calls at Ashdod and Haifa,” said Dondra Ritzenthaler, senior vice president of sales, Celebrity Cruises. “We know that our guests will be as thrilled to discover these parts of Israel as they will be to discover all that the ship herself has to offer.”

In 2009, Lasko Kosher Cruises is also offering nine other first-class sailings: two seven-day cruises to the Eastern caribbean, January 18th and January 25th; two seven-day cruises to Alaska, June 28th   and August 2nd; a seven-day cruise to the Baltic region and Russia, August 9th; two 10-day cruises to the Eastern Mediterranean and exotic Greek Isles, June 26th and August 7th; a seven-day cruise to the Norwegian Fjords, August 16th; and a combined Northern Europe/Norwegian Fjords cruise for 14 days leaving August 9th.

Lasko Kosher Cruises is now taking reservations for all of its 2009 cruises. Lasko Kosher Cruises, an affiliate of Lasko Family Kosher tours, the largest kosher tour operator in the world, is based in South Florida. The company partners exclusively with top-tier cruise lines such as Celebrity Cruises and Costa Cruises, and embarks from different ports of call around the world. Lasko Kosher Cruises uses independent kosher supervision through Rabbi Levi Teitlebaum, director of the Ottowa Vaad HaKashrus (OVH), and Rabbi Yossi Birnbaum, the Israeli Field Representative of DSJ Global Kashrus Organization. For more detailed itinerary information or to reserve a cabin now, call 866.604.9838 or visit www.koshercruises.com.
