Are there any cool tourist attractions near or at Acadia national park?

My family and i are going to acadia national park this summer so we are wondering about tourist attractions.

Be sure to check out Cadillac Mountain while you’re in the park.

If you have the time, you may want to visit the L.L. Bean flagship store in Freeport, about 3 hours from Bar Harbor.

Has anybody been to either of these Dominican Republic Resorts?

So my family and I are trying to decide which of these resorts to go to on spring break. Has anybody been to the Bavaro Princess, Riu Palace Maccao, or the Riu Bambu? Reviews or comparing the resorts?

What are great vacation destinations for family’s with infants?

My husband is currently deployed and will be coming home in November for R&R. We have an infant daughter who will be 1 at that time. Does anyone have any ideas of a great 3-4 day family vacation? I’m not sure where we can go that is warm, relaxing, and baby friendly. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I’d like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it’s hard to understand why people don’t stay home.
Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere – anywhere but home.

What caribbean island has the most interesting, budding new music scene?

I am interested in visiting an island with potential for good new music from young artists like myself– what’s the best caribbean island to go to for inspiration or to find like-minded individuals who are ambitious with their career yet still have an island mindset?

Ideally, a beautiful, safe, peaceful place with rich scenery, but also with a substantial audience, ie large number of people passing through and a good modern city area.

Btw half of my family is Jamaican, so I am looking for options outside of there, as I already am familiar with the music happening there…

Appart form Jamaica, the only other real options are:

1) Trinidad and Tobago
Has lots of people (bigger cities)
Has an interesting blend of music. calypso,soca, chutney, parang, rapso and even the reggae types. There are a few people experimenting as well.

Also intersting musical instruments like the steel pan.

3) Barbados
This is an intersting place but the music is limited to soca, calypso and reggae.

I think Trinidad and Tobago is the better place for you.

Tourist missing in Hong Kong: help find Ani Ashekian 1/7

On November 9, 2008, Ani Ashekian left Xian, China on a Dragon Airlines flight to Hong Kong.

On November 10, Ani Ashekian was seen in Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui and also Causeway Bay.

And then on November 11, Ani Ashekian disappeared without a trace.

Tourists in Hong Kong simply don’t vanish. Last year, more than 29 million visitors passed through Hong Kong’s borders and this native to Canada was one of them.

But according to the Immigration Department, there is no record of Ani ever having left Hong Kong.

There have been no e-mails or phone calls to friends and family. There has been no activity on her bank accounts. There is no electronic or print paper trail. The pervasive digital traces we all generate in today’s information driven society there are none for Ani Ashekian.

Eight months have passed since anyone has last seen or heard from her. It’s a mystery with many questions and few clues, and it’s a mystery that has left family members and loved ones longing for information.

How could a tourist simply disappear in Hong Kong one of the safest cities in the world?
